The country house Poggio alle Fonti is located in the centre of the Natural Reserve of Bandella and of the "Valle dell'Inferno" valley, that is along the river Arno for about 4,5 km. This reserve can be visited thanks to the paths, but it is possible also to visit it thanks to a boat trip that gives the opportunity to see many kinds of birds, for example the famous kingfisher.

From Poggio alle Fonti variuos day trips are possible: to Siena, to its surroundings with the charming villages of Chianti and of the Crete Senesi and to Arezzo, a very nice city full of history and traditions, maybe it is not so famous, but it is culturally important thanks to all the works of art of Vasari and of Piero della Francesca. This zone is very interesting to visit also for the various historical and cultural evidences that are in the ancient villages. This piece of earth has also a very strong tuscan culinary tradition that has its roots in the ancient lifestyle of the farmers.

From Poggio alle Fonti you can easily get the villages of Pratomagno, along the way of Setteponti that links Arezzo with Vallombrosa. Along this historical way we can find, for example, the romanic church of Gropina in the village of Loro Ciuffenna. The zone of Pratomagno is rich of historical evidences and culinary traditions, moreover, it offers the possibility to have beautiful walks and trekking, with delicious breaks in restaurants. The zone of Casentino is easily reachable from the Poggio alle Fonti, for example, it takes one hour and half getting the village of Poppi, famous thanks to its historical castle of the 13th century.
